Two Teen Boys Rescued from Mauna Loa

Big Island firefighters Sunday morning rescued two teenage boys who got separated from their parents while hiking the Mauna Loa summit. The boys got lost at 6:10 p.m. Saturday and spent the night on the summit away from their parents. Firefighters responded at 5:45 a.m. Sunday with two ground teams and a chopper. A ground team found the boys and took them back to the parking lot where they were reunited with their parents. No injuries were reported.
